JOHN DAY – Don’t let the name fool you – “senior” lunches are for everyone.

Hot – and hearty – lunches are served at noon every Monday and Thursday at the John Day Senior Center, 142 N.E. Dayton St.

The cost is $4 for those 60 and older, $5 for those under 60, $3 for children 3-12, and free for kids under 3.

Meals are available – hot or frozen – for shut-ins. Call the senior center in advance, at 541-575-1825, to arrange for delivery.

Noon meals are also available Tuesdays at the Monument Senior Center, and Wednesdays at the Strawberry Grange Hall in Prairie City.
