JOHN DAY – Campers, anglers, hunters, and other recreational users of the Magone Lake area are invited to participate in planning the Magone Project.

The Blue Mountain Ranger District of the Malheur National Forest will hold a meeting about the project from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Grant County Regional Airport in John Day.

The Magone interdisciplinary team is seeking the input of stakeholders to help develop mutually beneficial outcomes. Those stakeholders are invited to bring information to present and share with the team and others on what is important to them in the project area.

The goal of this meeting is to share what is known about the existing condition of the project area and solicit input and feedback.

Additionally, the team and stakeholders hope to identify risks or enhancements to key benefits and capture concepts for landscape restoration options and clarify important values.

To RSVP for the meeting or for more information, contact Sara Daugherty at sddaugherty@fs.fed.us or 541-575-3058.
