Here's a look at this week's local law enforcement logs.

Arrests and citations in the Blue Mountain Eagle are taken from the logs of law enforcement agencies. Every effort is made to report the court disposition of arrested listed.


Circuit Court


CANYON CITY – The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following fines and judgments:

• Ronald Roy Horsman, 67, was found guilty by jury verdict of driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was sentenced to bench probation for 18 months and 80 hours community service, and fined $1,800. His driver’s license was suspended for one year. He was found guilty by court verdict of refusal to take a test for intoxicants, and fined $500. The court dismissed one count for criminal driving while suspended or revoked.

• Brian Sheldon Hubbard, 41, pleaded guilty to DUII. He was sentenced to jail for 10 days, bench probation for 24 months and 40 hours community service, and fined $1,600. His driver’s license was suspended for one year. The court dismissed one count for driving uninsured.

• Robert Henry Bryant, 39, pleaded guilty to first-degree failure to appear. He was sentenced to jail for 20 days, supervised probation for 24 months, 40 hours community service, and fined $500. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault, and was sentenced to jail for 30 days, supervised probation for 36 months, 40 hours community service, and fined $500, plus $691.48 in restitution to the Department of Human Services. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. The sentence is to be consecutive to all previously imposed ones. He pleaded guilty to menacing, and was sentenced to jail for 10 days, supervised probation for 36 months, 40 hours community service, and fined $100. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim. The sentence is to be consecutive to the previous one. The court dismissed one count of strangulation.

• Jeremy Dean Mclean, 45, pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to prison for 30 months and post-prison supervision for three years, ordered to have no contact with the victims, and fined $300. The court dismissed two counts for unlawful delivery of meth, three for unlawful possession of meth, and one for unlawful manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

• William B. Flockhart, 46, pleaded guilty to strangulation. He was sentenced to jail for 271 days and post-prison supervision for two years. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim, and fined $200. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault, and was sentenced to supervised probation for 24 months and 60 hours community service, ordered to have no contact with the victim, and fined $500. He pleaded guilty to menacing, and was sentenced to supervised probation for 24 months and 60 hours community service, ordered to have no contact with the victim, and fined $1,100. The court dismissed three counts for strangulation, and one for interference with making a report.


Grant County Sheriff


CANYON CITY – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported the following for the week of Dec. 12-18:

• Concealed handgun licenses: 3

• Average inmates: 16

• Bookings: 6

• Releases: 3

• Citations: 1

• Fingerprints: 4

• Civil papers processed: 7

• Warrants processed: 4

• Assistance/welfare check: 2

• Taylor Douglas, 19, Kennewick, Wash., cited for driving uninsured.


Dispatch


John Day dispatch worked 117 calls during the week of Dec. 15-21. Along with the various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included:

• John Day Police:

Dec. 18: Arrested a Prairie City man for second-degree burglary and first-degree theft; domestic reported at the Meadowbrook Apartments.

Dec. 20: Responded to a domestic on Stalker Alley in Prairie City.

Dec. 21: Arrested a Prairie City man and woman in a domestic incident.

• Grant County Sheriff:

Dec. 15: Domestic reported in the 200 block of North Humbolt Street.

Dec. 16: Issued a restraining order violation in Canyon City.

Dec. 18: Arrested a John Day man on a warrant; cited a Medford woman for speeding.

Dec. 19: Cited a Dayville man for speeding.

Dec. 20: Cited a Germantown, Md., driver for speeding; cited a John Day man for failure to carry proof of insurance.

• Long Creek ambulance:

Dec. 18: Responded for a man who fell and injured his hip.

• Prairie City ambulance:

Dec. 16: 96-year-old man who injured his hip.

• Monument ambulance:

Dec. 15: Responded for a 62-year-old man with breathing difficulties


Justice Court


CANYON CITY – The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:

• Violation of cooperative travel: Timothy Eugene Wright, 43, Grants Pass, fined $95.

• Take/possession of bull elk-antlerless season: Erik J. Slinger, 41, Scio, fined $435.

• Exceeding speed limit: Joshua James Slayton, 24, Mt. Vernon, 53/30 zone, fined $220.

• Driving while suspended-violation: Vincent Rex Tietjen, 49, Mt. Vernon, fined $335; Talia Christine Maloy, 38, Prairie City, fined $435; Whitney Jo Pattee, 26, Prairie City, fined $435.

• Failure to properly use a safety belt: Gary J. Hammons, 58, John Day, fined $95.

• Violation of the basic rule: James Robert Webb, 24, Mt. Vernon, 75/55 zone, fined $135; Kate Nicole Rawlins, 49, Hines, 81/55 zone, fined $220.

• Driving uninsured: Whitney Jo Pattee, 26, Prairie City, fined $260.

• Dog as a public nuisance: Joseph V. Radinovich, 37, John Day, fined $260, found guilty with a 30-day diversion to be dismissed if there are no further convictions.

• No non-resident hunting license: Kristoffer Douglas Norman, 31, Middleton, Idaho, fined $435.
