PRAIRIE CITY – At its Oct. 14 meeting, the Prairie City City Council voted to opt out of allowing early marijuana sales within the city limits.
The voting break down was four councilors in favor, two against and one abstaining.
The council held a town hall on Sept. 9 to allow the community to voice their opinions on the issue. A majority of those attending signified by a show of hands they were in favor of opting out.
Prairie City still has the choice to opt back in later after seeing what happens in other towns.
