Greater Smiles, a local charity, has added a Frigidaire 20.9-cubic foot upright freezer to its steer raffle fundraiser.

Along with a steer raised by the Voigt Ranch and cut, de-boned and wrapped by Russell’s Custom Meats in John Day, the winner will also have a place to store it.

Tickets for the Sept. 30 drawing can be purchased at local merchants in Grant and Harney counties.

Tickets are $10 each, three for $25, seven for $50 or 17 for $100.

The freezer will be on display at Chester’s Thriftway in John Day from Aug. 31 to Sept. 14 and at Erickson’s Thriftway in Burns from Sept. 14 to Sept. 28.

Greater Smiles is a project of Christian Communication and Ministry, a public charity based in John Day. Greater Smiles aims to provide assistance to veterans, domestic abuse victims and those who are working but can’t afford dental care.
