A special Monument School District No. 8 school board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9, in Monument to discuss the search for a new superintendent.

Monument’s interim superintendent Ron Frieh, who came from Springfield, left just a few weeks after school began.

School board president Jeff Thomas said the board accepted Frieh’s resignation on Monday, Sept. 25.

The district’s regular school board meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

Monument School had 47 K-12 students enrolled at the start of the school year.
