A man accused of holding up a store in Hines and striking an employee was arrested Tuesday.
At about 6 a.m. April 3, Harney County Dispatch received a 911 call reporting an armed robbery that occurred at the Bare Bones Store in Hines and that the suspect had fled the scene, according to a press release.
The initial investigation revealed a female employee at Bare Bones was held at gunpoint and struck on her head, causing injury. The victim was not transported for her injury.
Cash and other items were stolen from the store before the suspect fled, and the suspect was identified as 28-year-old Joseph Hoaglen from Hines, according to the release.
The Oregon State Police SWAT team assisted investigators with the execution of a search warrant at a Hines area residence. Evidence associated with the robbery and theft was located and seized, according to the release. Hoaglen was taken into custody without incident by the Oregon State Police and lodged at the Harney County Jail for Robbery I, Robbery II, Robbery III, Burglary II, Assault I, Assault II, Assault IV, Theft II and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
Oregon State Police detectives and patrol troopers, along with officers from the Hines Police Department, Burns Police Department and Harney County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the investigation.
