A flash flood warning has been issued for Grant County, in effect until 9:15 p.m. Up to 2 inches have rain have been recorded with more expected.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Grant County until 9:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton issued a warning for central Grant County at 5:35 p.m., effective until 8:30 p.m. It issued a warning for western Grant County at 6:51 p.m., effective until 9:15 p.m.

According to the weather service, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Up to 2 inches of rain and hail have already fallen, and flash flooding is expected.

Additional rain and hail is possible in the area.

In hilly terrain, there are hundreds of low-water crossings that are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads; find an alternate route.

Report flooding to local law enforcement when safe to do so.
