Grant County Circuit Court


Allan N. MacMillan, 59, Prairie City, on Oct. 30 was found not guilty by jury trial of first-degree criminal trespass that was alleged to have occurred Aug. 8. The court then granted a motion for a judgment of acquittal to a misdemeanor charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Daniel J. Coiner, 37, Sweet Home, pleaded guilty Oct. 16 to felony driving under the influence of intoxicants committed on June 24. He was sentenced to 25 months prison, 24 months probation and a $2,500 fine. His license was revoked for life. Charges of driving while suspended or revoked and reckless driving were dismissed.

Oct. 28: A hunter reported finding a cow elk that had been shot and left along Highway 7 near Tipton Summit.

Oct. 28: Several residents in Canyon City reported seeing men shoot a buck deer on private property without permission.
