Monument’s Sophie Pettit placed fifth in 1A long jump at the Track and Field State Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene Thursday.

Pettit posted a distance of 15-06.00. Jazmin Wilberg of Camas VValley won with 16-05.75, followed by Ana Popchock of South Wasco County with 15-11.75, Sarah Falardeau of Willamette Valley with 15-10.00 and Madi Hall of Pacific with 15-07.00.

Pettit, who earned four first-place titles at the district meet, will also compete in the 4x100 relay, the 100 and the 200 Friday.
