Strong serving from several Lady Panthers helped Prairie City secure a 3-0 win Friday over the Pine Eagle Spartans.
The Panthers won at their home court with scores of 25-9, 25-6 and 25-9.
“We had a light week as far as competition goes, but the girls maintained good focus and intensity, working on team elements that will benefit them as the season progresses,” said Prairie City head coach Lance Zweygardt.
He said he’s happy with the positive chemistry the team is building.
Prairie City’s Cassie Hire served 100 percent with eight aces out of 18 serves.
Teammate Mariah McClung had seven aces and was 94 percent on 18 serves, and Rilee Emmel also had seven aces, with 88 percent on 16 serves.
The Panthers also had no serve receive errors and only one passing error.
Prairie City will host Burnt River at 4 p.m. Friday.
The Panthers travel for the Interleague Jamboree in North Powder on Saturday.
The action starts at 8 a.m., and opponents at the event include Cove, Harper, Pine Eagle, Huntington, Joseph and Dayville/Monument.
