The Burns Paiute Tribe, in partnership with the Forest Service, will host an educational fishing experience Saturday, Aug. 16, at High Lake in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.

People are invited to help restore native trout populations in the Upper Malheur River by catching and removing non-native brook trout at the free event, which is open to all ages.

Prizes will be available, donated from such locations as Sportsman’s Warehouse, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Big R, Steens Mountain Fly Shop, Kings Variety Stores, Jack Links Jerky, and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream.

Preregister by Friday, Aug. 15, by calling fish biologist Kris Crowley, 541-573-8083.
