JOHN DAY – Work begins this week on the sidewalk upgraded along sections of U.S. Highways 26 and 395 in John Day.

The Oregon Department of Transportation reported the work will require lane restrictions and some sidewalk detours. There will be flaggers for vehicle traffic, and occasional delays of up to 20 minutes are possible.

The upgrades on Highway 26 are from the junction with 395 to Southeast Elm Street. On Highway 395, the work will focus on a stretch from Highway 26 to Southwest Second Street.
