Umatilla Forest Group to meet in Pendleton

PENDLETON – The Umatilla Forest Collaborative Group will meet from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Umatilla Forest Supervisor’s office across from the Wildhorse Resort in Pendleton.

The group is working to develop recommendations for two projects: one on the dry forest site of the Kahler Unit and one in the moist Thomas Creek Unit. Forest Service personnel will be on hand to answer questions and provide background information.

The North Fork John Day Watershed Council is host and co-facilitator to the group. Elaine Eisenbraun, executive director of the Watershed Council encourages anyone interested in the operations of the Umatilla National Forest to attend the meetings.

The office is at 72510 Coyote Rd., Pendleton, exit 216 off Interstate 84.
