A former Grant County resident has released his first novel, a political thriller titled “Collective Retribution.”

A 1987 Grant Union High School graduate, Steve Dunn goes by his pen name, “D.S. Edwards.” His book takes the reader on an adventure filled with twists and turns, from Washington, D.C., to Austin, Texas, to Prineville and Seneca, where the hero character has a ranch.

He will be sell and sign hardcover copies of his book at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at The Corner Cup in John Day.

He said the tale is a prophetic look at the coming fall of the United States, and those who will be the catalysts in bringing about that destruction. He’s hopeful the story remains a work of fiction and not a prophetic insight.

A lifelong Eastern Oregonian who grew up in John Day, the author and his family currently live on a small ranch near Prineville, where he enjoys the outdoors, traveling, photographing wildlife, fishing, camping and hunting.

“Collective Retribution” is available in hardcover and paperback through Amazon, and Barnes and Noble, and all electronic formats, such as Kindle and Nook.
