LONG CREEK – The second annual Long Creek volunteer appreciation dinner packed the house, drawing more than 160 people to the school to honor local fire and ambulance volunteers.

The crowd dined on tri-tip dinner, prepared by local cooks and served by students at the school.

There were drawings for gift baskets, gift certificates and prizes, along with an auction of artwork and special items – including a baby goat – to round out the evening.

The April 4 event raised more than $5,000 for the Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service. Proceeds will help buy safety equipment and pay for training expenses.
