A unique way to visit Grant County is by airplane, and the folks at the Grant County Regional Airport offer services and amenities to make your stay pleasurable, whether it's just a stop to re-fuel or a more extended visit.

The airport is conveniently situated approximately three miles from the heart of the John Day-Canyon City area.

Situated at an elevation of 3,700 feet, it features two runways measuring 4,500 feet and 3,500 feet.

The airport offers visitors the use of one of two courtesy vehicles to get to town for overnight lodging or dining. Airport personnel also can arrange transportation and lodging.

The airport is open year-round, and is certified by the National Weather Service to broadcast hourly weather reports. The county-owned airport features an automated weather reporting system accessible by radio, phone and personal computer that provides around-the-clock weather information.

The airport sells jet and 100 low-lead aviation fuel.

During the summer from June through September, the airport is staffed 12 hours daily.

It offers a comfortable, convenient pilot's lounge with 24-hour access and snacks.
