Anniversaries: Thomason - 50 years

James ÒJimÓ and Lenora (Stout) Thomason celebrated their 50th anniversary July 11. The couple celebrated with friends June 26 at the John Day Senior Center.

James "Jim" and Lenora (Stout) Thomason celebrated their 50th anniversary July 11. The couple celebrated with friends June 26 at the John Day Senior Center.

The couple married in 1954 in Yakima, Wash., and have resided in Grant County since 1953. They are both members of the Bible Way Church.

Jim is the vice president of the Gideons, was past commander of the American Legion and past master of the Mt. Vernon Grange. He owns Jim's Antiques in Canyon City. Lenora retired in 2002.

They have one daughter, Debra Toombs of Elko, Nev.; one son, Jerry of Canyon City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
