SALEM - The Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is accepting all-terrain vehicle (ATV) grant applications for projects focusing on operation and maintenance, planning and development and land acquisition.

An application form and the grant manual are available at Packets also may be obtained by calling (503) 986-0706, or by writing to OPRD, 725 Summer Street N.E., Suite C., Salem, OR 97301-1271, Attn: Grant Program. -

Since the ATV program's grant manual and application form are significantly modified, potential applicants should discuss their projects with OPRD officials before submitting their proposals, advises ATV program coordinator Rocky Houston.

Applications must be received at OPRD's Salem headquarters by 5 p.m. Dec. 1.

The ATV Allocation Advisory Committee will review and prioritize proposals at a meeting Jan. 13-14, 2005.
