DAYVILLE - Nathaniel Ashley of Dayville was among seven outstanding Oregon 4-H members who received scholarships awarded by the Oregon State University Extension 4-H Youth Development Program.
Ashley received the $1,000 Babe Coe Scholarship established by the family of Babe Coe in her memory. The scholarship is offered as a tribute to Coe's contributions and interest in the 4-H Youth of Oregon through an endowment established in the Oregon 4-H Foundation.
Ashley's projects during his 4-H tenure centered around livestock and shooting sports, fishing and leadership. He has been the president of his 4-H club, as well as, provided key leadership at the Dayville High School. He is completing nine years of 4-H work and will be a freshman at Eastern Oregon University this fall.
