JOHN DAY - Sign-ups for the 2004 Babe Ruth Baseball season will be held Monday, April 19, in the cafeteria at Grant Union High School from 6:30-8 p.m.

The registration fee is $35, and players from ages 13-15 by Aug. 1 are eligible to participate.

First-time players will need to provide a copy of their birth certificates for league files. Any returning players should have their certificates already on file.

There will also be a sign-up schedule for parents and ball players to sell fireworks. The fireworks sales are the only Babe Ruth fund-raiser and proceeds are used to replace equipment and uniforms.

Teams should begin practice in mid-May, with the season scheduled to run from late May through June.
