JOHN DAY - A new barbecue food service is coming soon to Kountry Lanes in John Day.

"Smoke N Pins" will specialize in such barbecue treats as beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs and chicken halves. Side dishes available will include beans, cornbread and coleslaw, featuring Annie Ann's popular recipe.

Grill master will be Jeannie Kline, who recently competed in the Western Regional KCBS (Kansas City Barbecue Society) competition in Albany. Kline was up against 30 other teams from around the Northwest. She took 6th place in brisket, 2nd place in chicken and 1st place in the side dish category, for which she entered beans.

Kline will have a food booth at the Grant County Fair, and then beginning Monday, Aug. 25, Smoke N Pins will be a regular fixture at Kountry Lanes. Kline says she is also available for catering services.

Kountry Lanes is located at 679 W. Main Street in John Day and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

For more information, call Kountry Lanes at 575-0481, or Kline at 604-4081.
