ROSEBURG - On Feb. 4, the Grant County Special Olympics team, known as the Grant County Bears, traveled to Roseburg to-participate in the regional basketball tournament.-

Benjamin Joslin competed in the individual skills competition (dribbling, passing and shooting), taking home a fourth-place ribbon.-

Jay "Jaybird" Colson, Jaylon Brock, Brian McKrola, and Katie Latham participated in the 3-on-3 tournament, earning a bronze medal.- Also accompanying the team to Roseburg were-coaches Kim-and Ryan Joslin, and parent Carla Colson.-

All five of the athletes have earned the right to compete at the state competition, to be held in Springfield on the weekend of March 10.-

Game one versus the Benton Badgers was an easy win and the Bears put 20 points on the board to cruise to a 20-8 victory.

The second game against the Linn Cougars was a little more challenging and the Bears came away on the losing end of the score.
