BURNS – The Grant County youth wresting club competed Jan. 26 in the Burns Buckle Classic, where six wrestlers made their mark.

The event was in memory of Jay Winn, who died in a truck accident last fall.

Doug Gunderson presented an engraved buckle and wrestling gear to the Winn family for their loss.

Future tournaments will be known as the Jay Winn Memorial Les Schwab Buckle Classic.

A special video tribute to Winn was played to start the tournament.

All six Grant County wrestlers finished in the top four in their respective weight classes.

Preston Boethin, Justin Hodge and Mason Benge placed first overall. Dillon Clark placed second. Bridger Walker and Russell Hodge placed fourth.

The tournament marks the end of a successful season for the Grant County Wrestling Club.
