Lincoln Junior High def. Mt. Vernon Middle School 14-0

MT. VERNON - Lincoln Junior High School from Burns handed Mt. Vernon Middle School its second football loss of the season on Friday, Sept. 26, dropping the Mustangs 14-0 in a defensive struggle.

Coach Pete Piazza said the Mustangs were penalized 60 yards in clipping penalties alone, negating most of the 153 yards gained in the third quarter of the contest.

"It was pretty much a defensive struggle, and we gave it up on penalties and a couple of mistakes," Piazza said.

The Mustangs grossed a total of 213 yards in rushing offense and were 4-for-5 in passing for approximately 80 yards.

Mt. Vernon intercepted two errant Lincoln passes, and Michael Duckett was the leading tackler with six.
