JOHN DAY – Several campgrounds on the Malheur National Forest will remain open during the completion of minor construction projects.

They are:

• North Fork - Nov. 1-5, for installation of new fence;

• Elk Creek - Nov. 8-10, for installation of new fence and tables;

• Big Creek - Nov. 15-19, for installation of new fence.

Due to the uncertainty of weather and construction delays, dates are subject to change.

Those planning a visit to Malheur campgrounds until Nov. 20, are encouraged to contact the Supervisor’s office at 541-575-3000, the Emigrant Creek District at 541-573-4300 or Prairie City District at 541-820-3800 to check on possible construction activities.
