JOHN DAY - Several campgrounds on the Malheur National Forest will be closed to public use at various times between Oct. 11 and Nov. 20. The closures will be in effect while contractors install new tables, fire rings and fencing. The upgrades will make all sites Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant, allowing all visitors full access to facilities.

Schedule for the closures is:

? Yellow Jacket: Oct. 12-15

? Fall: Oct. 18-20

? Buck Springs: Oct. 20-22

? Alder Springs: Oct. 25

? Rock Springs: Oct. 26-29

? North Fork: Nov. 1-5

? Elk Creek: Nov. 8-10

? Big Creek: Nov. 15-19

Due to uncertainty of weather and construction delays, dates are subject to change. Those planning a visit to Malheur campgrounds up to Nov. 20 are encouraged to contact the Supervisor's office at 541-575-3000, the Emigrant Creek District at 541-573-4300, or Prairie City District at 541-820-3800, to confirm if construction activities will occur.
