Signs in Prineville point the way to John Day. It's only 115 miles east on Highway 26. Word that Aryan Nations, a white supremacy group, is looking into relocating its headquarters from Idaho to Grant County has much of the John Day community terrified.

Aryan Nation's self proclaimed leader visited the area last week. In response, dozens of residents demonstrated near the city's one traffic light.

"I've heard that there were environmentalists and loggers standing next to each other holding signs saying, 'We don't want this,'" said John Day mayor, Bob Quinton.
