SALEM - The Department of Human Services predicts that a greater number of children than usual may be sent home on Feb. 19, school exclusion day, for children who are not updated on immunizations or those who have not turned in appropriate medical or religious exemptions.

"We want parents to know that all vaccines are widely available, so it's time to make sure their children are protected against these dangerous diseases," said Grant Higginsen, M.D., state public health officer for the Oregon Department of Human Services.
