Dayville welcomes 'The First Snowfall'

DAYVILLE - The Dayville School students have been busily preparing for a Christmas program, "The First Snowfall," planned for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, in the school gym. They are anticipating a special visitor dressed in red.

As with most schools, the holiday vacation will begin on Dec. 20 and school will resume on Jan. 6, 2003.

Humbolt Elementary features concert

CANYON CITY - An Old Fashioned Christmas will be presented by Humbolt Elementary School students, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the school gym. The program will begin at 6:30 with kindergartners through second-graders. From 7:30-8:30 the third- through fifth-graders will participate. Child care, provided by Humbolt PTA, will be available for toddlers and pre-schoolers in the school cafeteria.

LONG CREEK - A Christmas program will be held at Long Creek School 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, and a visit from jolly old St. Nick is expected. Preschool students through sixth-graders will present "Candy Cane Lane" and seventh- through 12th-grade choir will perform a holiday medley, "The Best Time of the Year."

MT. VERNON - Mt. Vernon Middle School will be filled with the spirit of the holiday as the talented students present the annual Christmas Concert 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the school gym. The public is welcome to join in the fun.

Each month the Mt. Vernon Middle School Site Council meets on the second Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the library. The public is encouraged to attend the next meeting on Dec. 11.
