JOHN DAY - The Grant County Economic Council is in final production on a new Grant County Visitors Map.

It will feature a full-color relief map of the county showing all major highways and roads, communities, and key attractions. It will be given out free across the county and in key visitor centers in Oregon.

A draft of the map is on display at the Grant County Chamber of Commerce. An all-volunteer effort, the cost is covered in part by a generous grant from the county motel tax fund, according to Les Zaitz of the council.

Businesses and agencies also are supporting the publication through paid listings. The deadline to reserve a space is Oct. 15.

For more information or to participate, contact Zaitz at 541-421-3031 or e-mail to (granteconomicccouncil@gmail.com).
