LA GRANDE - Marta Harvill of La Grande recently joined the AmeriCorps*Vista team and will work with Community Connection.

Through her position at Community Connection, Harvill will develop and assess community awareness on the food bank program through an upcoming survey. In addition, she will help expand the local funding base and train and recruit volunteers.

In her new role as a AmeriCorps*Vista, one of her first projects will be to help expand and strengthen current services relating to the food bank in Union, Wallowa, Baker and Grant counties.

Nearly 6,000 AmeriCorps*Vista members serve in hundreds of nonprofit organizations and public agencies throughout the country.
