CANYON CITY - What can be done to help families and children with drug and alcohol issues?

That is the topic of an Aug. 28 meeting sponsored by the Grant County Commission on children and families, Center for Human Development and Northeast Oregon Housing Authority.

The discussion will be held 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Guernsey Building, 120 Washington St.

Organizers are seeking input from community members on how to help. Two questions are asked: "What helps kids and families stop using?" and "What encourages kids and families to keep using?". A portion of the meeting will be devoted to addressing other issues specific to the public and Section 8 housing residents.

For more information, call Dana Brooks at 575-3600 or Lori Kenney at (503) 235-6464.
