A charge against Liv M. Elfstrom, 29, Durango, Colorado, of driving under the influence of intoxicants committed Aug. 19, 2017, was dismissed with prejudice Nov. 13 after the court found that Elfstrom had complied with and completed a diversion program or taken sufficient steps to satisfy the requirement to complete a treatment program.

Kevin R. Weiher, 56, Eufaula, Oklahoma, was acquitted Nov. 14 of six charges including fourth-degree assault and menacing constituting domestic violence and attempted coercion and harassment, all allegedly committed on Aug. 9, following a two-day trial. He was discharged and released from any further obligations to the court.

Amanda L. Bogen, 32, Prairie City, pleaded guilty Feb. 22 to felony possession of methamphetamine committed on Oct. 12, 2016. Charges of manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine were dismissed. The case was conditionally discharged June 14, which was terminated Nov. 15 for a probation violation. She was sentenced to six days jail, 18 months probation, 80 hours community service and a $200 fine.

Derek M. Bergman, 25, Prairie City, pleaded guilty Nov. 5 to misdemeanor harassment committed on Aug. 8. He was sentenced to 20 days jail. A second charge of harassment was dismissed.

Nov. 12: Dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 402. The crash had occurred six hours earlier, and the passenger had begun walking back to his residence 23 miles away. The driver returned to the scene and was transported to the hospital. Search and rescue was notified.

Nov. 14: Investigated a single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 west of John Day. The driver had tried to avoid hitting two deer.

Nov. 16: Responded to commercial vehicle crash on Highway 26 near Dixie Summit. The truck slid on ice and struck a guardrail. Jacob I. Light, 28, Baker City, was cited for not staying in the lane.

Nov. 17: Responded to Highway 26 near Dixie Summit and cited Stephen P. Hancock, 42, Canyon City, for unlawful cutting and transporting wood products.
