CANYON CITY The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:
Violation of the basic rule: Juan Fernando Z. Marquez, 41, Denver, Colo., 73/55 zone, fined $160; Jorge Vazquez, 37, San Diego, 72/55 zone, fined $160; Matthew John Leunen, 24, Redmond, 78/55, fined $195; Kenneth J. Chard, 44, Ft. Wright, Ky., 82/55 zone, fined $260; Cosmos O. Corbin, 34, Portland, 75/55 zone, fined $160.
Jeff Allen Spencer, Milwaukie, was convicted of hunting from a publick roadway, sentenced to probation for 12 months, 40 hours community service, fined $1,000, and his hunting privileges were suspended for 36 months. One count of hunting on enclosed lands, and one for hunting turkeys in closed season were dismissed.
Richard Hadley was found guilty of unlawful entry in a wildlife area, as a violation, and fined $100.
Oregon State Police
At 10:24 p.m. Saturday, June 2, Oregon State Police troopers assisted the Grant County Sheriffs Office with a domestic dispute in Monument.
At about 4 p.m. Friday, June 8, OSP cited Harvey Askew, 53, of Prairie City, for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, following a traffic stop on Highway 26 near Clyde Holliday State Park.
At 9:50 p.m. Saturday, June 9, police cited three Baker City men, Ross L. West, 20; Joel P. Rohner, 18; and Mark A. Voboril, 18, for open container of alcohol, following a traffic stop on Highway 26 near Indian Creek Road. West was also cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

John Day dispatch worked 163 calls during the week of June 4-10. Along with the various traffic warnings, trespassing, injured animals, noise complaints and juvenile complaints, these calls included:
John Day Police:
June 4: Harassment reported at the Elkhorn Motel.
June 6: Cited a Mt. Vernon man for careless driving.
June 7: Cited a Canyon City minor for driving outside restrictions.
June 8: Cited a John Day man for no proof of insurance and not wearing seat belts; cited a Brighton, Colo., man for speeding.
June 10: Cited a Redmond man for failure to change registration, driving without a license and open container.
Grant County Sheriff:
June 5: Arrested a St. Helens man on a Scappoose warrant.
June 8: Responded to a fight at Sels Brewery in Canyon City; criminal mischief and theft reported at Route 395 Mini Mart.
June 9: Cited a Mt. Vernon man for probation violation, and arrested him for furnishing alcohol to a minor; cited a John Day man for a probation violation.
June 10: Responded with the Forest Service to a grass fire on South Fork Road.
John Day ambulance:
June 5: 57-year-old man with chest pain; 88-year-old man who had collapsed; dispatched to the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center.
June 8: Dispatched for a weak woman who had fallen.
Prairie City ambulance:
June 8: Report of a woman possibly suffering from pneumonia.
Oregon State Police:
June 7: Report of a car fire on Highway 395 south of Canyon City.
Long Creek ambulance:
June 8: 67-year-old woman with a heart complaint.
