LA GRANDE - The Lone Pine Tree Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has several events on tap this week.

They include:

? Wednesday, Oct. 6 - Genealogy workshop in La Grande, led by research chairman Shirley O'Neal. Members are invited to research their family tree.

? Thursday, Oct. 7 - Membership workshop from 1-4 p.m. at the La Grande Public Library. To become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, women must be descendents of a Revolutionary War patriot. Trained DAR members will be on hand to assist.

? Friday, Oct. 8 - Chapter meeting 11:30 a.m. at the Greyhound Bus Terminal Conference Room in La Grande.

Copies of the new Lone Pine Tree Chapter Cookbook are also available for $10 each.

The nonprofit's goals are historic preservation, education and promotion of patriotism. The group meets the second Friday of each month (except July and August) in either La Grande or Baker City.
