July 17, 1939 - April 21, 2003

David Cameron Richardson, 63, of Springfield, Mo., died on April 21 at Cox South Walnut Lawn, Springfield, Mo.

He was born July 17, 1939, at John Day to Vernon T. and Mary Richardson. He graduated from Prairie City High School in 1957 then served in the United States Navy for 13 years.

In 1959, he married Mary Sue White of Millington, Tenn. Mr. Richardson was employed as a professor at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. He was retired.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue; daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn S. and Tim Kirby of Manassas, Va., and Jacqueline K. and Brian Keyes of Seoul, South Korea; five grandchildren; and brother Bill Diest of Winnemucca, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon T. Richardson, Mary Ellen Deist and stepfather, Howard Deist; sister, Betsy Jean Deist, and a brother, Vernon Richardson.

Funeral services were held April 29 in the chapel at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, with burial in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the David C. Richardson Scholarship Fund, in care of Contributions, Evangel University, 1111 N. Glenstone, Springfield, MO 65802.
