Dayville grad to compete in rodeo finals

<p>Jon Kimball of Dayville competes in the cutting competition at the Oregon High School Rodeo State Finals in Prineville. Kimball will compete at the National High School Finals Rodeo July 15-21 in Rock Springs, Wyo.</p>

 

DAYVILLE – Jon Kimball, split third- and fourth-place in the cutting competition at the Oregon High School Rodeo State Finals June 13-16 in Prineville.

Kimball’s finish in the top four earned him a trip to compete in the National High School Finals Rodeo, July 15-21, in Rock Springs, Wyo.

Kimball was also awarded a $350 athletic scholarship and a $700 academic one from the Oregon High School Rodeo Association. He plans to attend Central Oregon Community College in Bend in the fall, studying criminal justice.

A 2012 graduate of Dayville High School, Kimball is the son of Randy and Patti Kimball of Dayville.
