GRANT COUNTY - Bank of Eastern Oregon awarded 12 $500 scholarships to graduating seniors through its Agricultural/Business Scholarship Program. This is the 12th year the bank has offered this program, giving away more than $33,000 during that time.

Two local students received $500 each.

Eve Denton, Prairie City High School, volunteered her time with Families First Child Care and held leadership positions with Family Career and Community Leaders of America. Eve will attend Boise State University in the fall and will major in athletic training and minor in business and teaching.

Ty Rawlins, Grant Union High School, played on the football, basketball and baseball teams. He was class president during his freshman and junior years, is a member of the FFA, PEP Club and National Honor Society. Ty plans to attend George Fox University in Newberg in the fall to study business management.
