SENECA - James McQuade, 58, Redmond, Wash., was issued a citation for criminally negligent homicide in connection with a traffic accident in which a 57-year-old man from Bellevue, Wash., was fatally injured on Monday, Aug. 25.

According to Grant County Sheriff's deputies, Dennis Bruce Stewart was a passenger in a 2002 Ford Explorer being driven by McQuade.

The vehicle was reportedly eastbound on County Road 63, approximately six miles from the intersection of Highway 395, at around 2:30 p.m. when the accident occurred.

Investigators report the vehicle drifted across the westbound lane and left the paved part of the roadway, traveling several hundred feet in the barrow pit before returning to the pavement and rolling over at least four times.

McQuade reportedly told investigators he had fallen asleep.
