JOHN DAY - A Grand Visitation was hosted by the Deborah Chapter No. 43, Order of Eastern Star on March 13.

After a no-host dinner at the Outpost restaurant, the entourage made its way to Fraternal Hall in Canyon City.

Distinguished guests included Worthy Grand Matron Penny MacKinnon from Molalla and her escort, Mac MacKinnon, and Worthy Grand Patron Harry Baker and Grand Esther, Sharon Baker from Medford.

Honored attendees were Georgia Kahn of Burns, Special Project Committee; Lanni Strong of the Deborah Chapter, Leslie S. Parker Scholarship Committee. Both are of the Grand Chapter of Oregon.

Burns Chapter 40 Worthy Matron Diane Denstedt and Worthy Patron Richard Tabor attended along with Jean Rines, Howard Kahn and Susan Minnier.

Deborah members in attendance included Worthy Matron Donna Edmunson; Worthy Patron Keith "Mick" Dougherty; Associate Matron Eula Thompson; Conductress Helen Bogart; Associate Conductress Patricia Perry; secretary Lanni Strong; treasurer Delta Rude; protems for chaplain; organist Dollina Humphreys; Julie Reynolds as Martha; Patricia Moery as Ruth; and Warder Charlotte Dougherty.

It was noted that member Jack Perry is in need of a handicap ramp and porch, which will be built with the help of Pete Barrietua and boys from the Mormon Church, and the Deborah Chapter.
