Edward Duncan "5-0" McDonald, 60, of Prairie City, died Oct. 1 at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day.

He was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Portland to Edward J. and Margaret L. McDonald.

Mr. McDonald attended Prairie City schools and graduated in 1960, then served in the United States Army in France from 1960-63.

In 1961 he married Nancy Bibby of Bates and they had three children.

Mr. McDonald was employed in the timber industry.

He loved the outdoors, hunting and took beautiful scenic and wildlife photos.

Mr. McDonald is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Sean and Melissa White of Vancouver, Wash., and Jonathan McDonald of Noti; two daughters: Nancy Jo Long of North Carolina, and Debbie Kulczyk of La Grande; two brothers, Daniel McDonald and his wife, Lyn, of Prairie City and Pat McDonald and Kathy Powers of Philomath; seven grandchildren; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
