RAPID CITY, S.D. - Former PRCA World Champion bull rider Dustin Elliott continued his quest to recapture the glory of 2004 scoring a winning combination at the extreme bull riding competition.

The former Grant County cowboy put together an 84.5 score in the first round and followed up with 84 points in the short go-round to take the average and win first-place prize money.

Elliott followed up that victory with a 77-point ride aboard Spinner Bait at Lincoln, Nebraska, to earn top honors.

Elliott was world bull riding champion in 2005 and finished third in 2005.

At the Southwest Livestock Show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Mt. Vernon steer wrestler Trevor Knowles recorded a speedy time of 8.1 seconds on two head to win the title. He earned $2,565 for his effort and moved into fourth place in the world standings.

Knowles continues his quest on the winter tour with upcoming events in Fort Worth, Texas, and Jackson, Miss., followed by two more Texas rodeos in San Antonio and San Angelo. Then he is off to an event in Tucson, Ariz.
