SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Dustin Elliott kicked off the 2005 bull riding season in a big way, winning the extreme bull riding championship at the recent San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo.

The 2004 PRCA world champion scored 88 points in the long-go round aboard a bull named Wasp Stinger and came back with a 92-point ride on Hot Damn in the championship round to win the $30,000 first- place prize money.

"The bulls here are really good," Elliott said. "Last year was the first time I rode in San Antonio and I haven't bucked off yet."

Elliott placed second last year.

This year's victory moved Elliott into the top three in the Jack Daniels World standings.
