REDMOND - Dustin Elliott rang in the new year in impressive fashion winning the short go-round at the annual Buckin' Bulls and Boogie Professional Bull Riders challenge event at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds New Year's Eve.

The former Grant County cowboy rode the Don Kish bull named Showtime for a score of 88.5 points in the round.

Elliott reached the short-go with an 81.5-point ride in the long go-round.

Forty-five of the top bull riders in the nation were at the event and Elliott finished second in the average.
