Fish and wildlife commission

Henry Lorenzen of Pendleton, Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission member, talks with Sen. Ted Ferrioli, R-John Day, about state land management during the commission's Sept. 20 meeting in John Day. Ferrioli commended the commission for taking up the wolf issue in public meetings and noted the growing reports of cougar conflicts. "The population clearly is becoming problematic," he said of cougars in Oregon. Ferrioli also credited the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife for "tremendous progress" at fiscal and management reform in the last two years.
