FOREST GROVE - The Oregon Department of Forestry's advisory committee for state-managed forestland in northwest and southwest Oregon will meet Friday, Dec. 15, in Forest Grove to discuss ODF's revision of implementation plans.

The meeting of the State Forests Advisory Committee is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium, 1915 Main St. Public comments will be accepted at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

-Implementation plans are plans for each district forest that apply the principles and strategies of the over-arching forest management plans for northwest and southwest state forests. The implementation plans project a "desired future condition" that extends several decades into the future.

-The plans include a landscape design - or map - that shows the existing forest condition and what is planned for the various sections of the forest in the future. ODF plans to revise the plans in an effort to better balance economic, environmental and social values. -The committee is being asked to provide input about the revisions.
