Pickups, SUVs, wagons, trucks and more for sale in Forest Service internet auction

Baker City, June 21, 2004. Thirty-five vehicles, one light truck, and one fork-lift will be offered for auction through the Internet, according to Paul Sandoval, Forest Fleet Manager. The bidding period for lots 701 through 719 will be from June 23 through July 7, 2004 and for lots 720 through 737 from June 24 through July 8, 2004.

The vehicles will be available for inspection daily on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the bidding period at the Forest Service compound, 3285 Eleventh Street, Baker City, Oregon. The General Services Administration (GSA) office in Auburn, Washington, will conduct the Internet auction starting at 8:00 p.m. Central Time on the Web site, www.gsaauctions.gov, and closing after 8:00 p.m. Central Time.

"The Forest will be selling twenty eight pickups of various types and sizes, six sport utility vehicles, one extended wagon, one light truck (stock truck), and one forklift, " Sandoval said.

According to Sandoval, prospective bidders will not be allowed to start the vehicles during the inspection for safety reasons. Any known problems with the vehicles have been declared in the GSA prepared sales information.

In order to submit bids, prospective bidders will have to register online at www.gsaauctions.gov. Any problems with the web page in either the registration or bidding phase should be directed to GSA, at 253-931-7569.
