BAKER CITY - Steve Ellis is leaving his post as supervisor of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest to take a Bureau of Land Management post in Idaho.

Ellis will be the new Idaho State Director for BLM.

An Illinois native, he began his federal career 31 years ago as a BLM forester. He held several BLM posts, including district manager in the Lakeview office, before joining the U.S. Forest Service as Wallowa-Whitman supervisor.
