Forrest wins RCR series

KIMBERLY - John Forrest of Prairie City came away as the overall winner in the final day of the RCR/CRC roping competition at the Rudio Creek Ranch on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Forrest was the winner of the first-prize saddle for his efforts in the competition, which began on Aug. 31 and ran on alternating Saturdays at the ranch and at the Grant County Fairgrounds.

Other winners on Saturday included Forrest and Pat Carter in the No. 8 roping, with Dave Murphy and John Paul Osborne placing second.

Lindsey Wyllie and Jeff Larson won the No. 7 roping, and Jim Hamsher and Darrel Burton were second.

Hamsher and Burton picked up the win in the No. 5 Roping, with Forrest and Pat Carter second.

Darrel and Sue Burton had the fast time in the No. 8 competition, and Wyllie and Hamsher had the fast time in the No. 7

Forrest and Rocky Marsh had the top time in the No. 5 competition.
